WHO WE ARE

The death of a loved one to suicide presents unique challenges to those who grieve. Confusion, guilt, anger, and the ever-present “why” are common responses.  This type of loss can also include isolation due to social stigma. Losing a loved one to suicide is a painful and difficult experience that often creates complicated emotions that are generally not understood by others. We want you to know that you are not alone and invite you to join us.

Who We Are

Anam Cara is a peer support group for those who have lost a loved one to suicide. Our Equine Gestalt Coaching Method™ group is different from other types of groups you may have attended. The innate healing and wisdom the horse provides create a unique experience in a safe and nurturing environment.   No prior equine experience is necessary.

Anam Cara provides an atmosphere of acceptance for exploring feelings, providing comfort and understanding to others who have experienced the same type of loss.

Meeting Time and Location

Anam Cara is open to anyone 18+ who has lost a loved one to suicide. Whether the loss was recent or many years in the past, all are welcome to attend.

Anam Cara meets monthly.  Contact us directly for dates and times. All meetings are held outside (weather permitting) or inside the barn. We recommend dressing in “farm appropriate” attire, including close-toed shoes for your comfort.
